Miguel is a Ph.D. candidate in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University in Canada. He completed a Master of Science in Experimental Medicine at the University of British Columbia and is a Medical Doctor who graduated from the Universidad del Valle in Colombia. Miguel studies the impact of microbes on human health, including the role of the microbiome in infectious diseases. He is interested in applying findings from infectious diseases genomics to public health policies and health care interventions.
